I've been messing about with a valve grinding setup on my lathe and have arrived at a pretty decent result. The setup uses a dremel mounted in
the tool post with the slide angle setup to match the seat cutter i have.
The snag is that for the first couple of valves that i ground i hadnt realised that my 3 jaw chuck was putting the concentricity out by 5 thou - silly
mistake i know.
As i dont have a collet set im now using a 4 jaw and setting up each valve.
To finish the job off i would love the chance to replace the first 3 which i have ground 5 thou out on run-out.
Does anyone have any old exhaust valves from a silver top 1.8 or 2.0 head going spare for beer tokens? The silvertop has the single collet grove.
I know i could buy new valves but i like to put the locost back into locostbuilders!
