I've been putting my new zetec engine the Indy today and I need to "extend" the drivers side mount by 50mm, and passenger one by 15mm so they can pickup on the mounting plates from the old pinto. It's just not in the correct place.

I'll take a picture shortly of the mounts but rather then extend the mounts, it's probably easier to make / buy new ones - anyone got a pair that are different to mine floating around or can make me some?

However, the engine came out of an "Indy R" (inboard shocks) and is going in my "Indy" (outboard shocks).
I bought the engine gearbox and prop as a package, however I can't use the new prop because the bell housing hits on the bulk head (the prop is too short)

Before I get the mounts changed, can anyone tell me if the chassis dimensions of the transmission tunnel are different in the two chassis?
I won't need get the mounts changed if the engine can go back a bit further, I can use the ones for the "Indy R"

At what point on the bellhousing does it foul on bulkhead?

It's actually failing more on the transmission tunnel (where your feet go).
The prop is so short is wants the gearbox to go back further about another 2/3 inches, but the gearbox is too wide to go back any further and it's failing on the tunnel.

What I've done now is use the old prop shaft from my pinto / type 9 setup.

Because i bought the engine as a package, I was trying to use what came with it, but the prop simply is too short - so that'll be going in the for sale section soon enough.

I'll just get some new mounts made up this week and we should be away. The nosecone fits where the engine is, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Only reason I ask is that the Striker catches on the bellhousing, its its possible to shave a fair amount off the housing to suit.
Might make it easier to get the engine located?

Just had a look at that link.... Blimey ! That's a bit drastic !

I have managed to get it all under the bonnet now, so I'll just get these mounts made to suit and I'll be on to the next problem!

To be fair, the image that does work exagerates it. I managed to trim a fair amount off and not acctually penetrate the housing by a few mm.
Hopefully my host will be back up shortly. Might be worth considering to save on prop and mount costs?

oh, that's not too bad - the picture i saw made it look like you cut the thing in half !!
