Not much help but i got my transit drop link nuts from GBS for a couple of quid.

Andy, who are GBS please?

Great British sportscars:

It might be worth trying a company called kit parts direct too:
http://www.kitpartsdirect.com/

Ive seen the nuts at the kit car shows too so if your planning on visiting one this year you will almost certainly get them there, might be worth checking your local ford dealer too, they sometimes surprise with prices.

Good luck with the search

Thanks for the tip.

I have tried the Ford dealer. They reckon there is no nut on the Transit. It fastens with a clamp and pinch bolt.

Unless anyone has a part number...........

Which nuts do you need, the one which secures the ball joint into the upright or the lock nut for for the shank / wishbone?

Sounds like the dealer was talking about the shank.

Davie the nuts that go on the shank as you call it. Are they M16 or M18 fine?

The nuts are M18 x 1. I got brass half nuts from a hydraulic parts supplier (Thorite) for not a lot of money.

nilocp - 21/3/12 at 09:22 PM

Marcus, brass against steel in that sort of application is not good, in my opinion!!

But what do I know?

nilocp - 26/3/12 at 10:19 PM

Not doing very well here, but thanks for the pm's.

I have got an exhaust manifold now, but that is all!!

Further items needed:

crossflow modified head
silencer (new?)
narrow seats
front mud guard brackets Cortina hubs
Front indicators
Anyone do a basic wiring loom??

Thanks

Colin

Thanks for that. The prop if it is a Mk2 will not go into the gearbox.
No those are not the engine mounts.
Thanks for the offer on the steering wheel, but I have aload of decent leather rim wheels, just need a boss to suit.

Thanks once agian
