Wanted: Simple part made on lathe
JekRankin - 12/7/11 at 07:55 AM

Good morning,

I'm looking to employ the services of someone to make up the following part in a bushing plastic like nylon or nylatron for me. Qty required: just one! Anyone out there able to offer their services?

Many thanks,
Jek

I could knock one of these bushes up from Nylon66 bar.
I may not be able to hold the tolerance on the 8mm bore, otherwise looks fairly easy.
Doug.

Hi Jek - close approximation of your bush made!

I'll pop it in the post.

Doug.

Now that has to be some sort of record, even for LCB!

This weekend I made it home to find a parcel waiting for me containg one complimentary nylon bush! The part fitted perfectly and I now have a working clutch! This isn't the first time I've been hugely impressed by the generosity and helpfulness of the members on here! Thanks again Doug!

Talking of freebies, I have a couple to give away myself. Both items posted free to whoever wants them:

1. One pair of steel steering rack clamps and standard rubber bushes to suit a mk2 Escort rack. The steel clamps were, I think, originally supplied by Tiger, and will need the mounting holes drilled in them (and painted too). Not the lightest clamps I've seen, but good for a builder on a budget.

2. One copy of the Haynes Car Builders Manual. Given to me, free of charge by locostbuilders member londonsean69 - I've now finished with it, so I'm passing it on! Its a fairly basic and generic guide, but suitable for a novice as an introduction to building cars.

Jek
