Wanted........Sierra Rear Caliper Handbrake Cable Joiner/Nipple/Thingy........the type that you can shorten the cable at the caliper and re-fit with 2
grub screws perpendicular to one another. I phoned MK but they don't have any........waiting for some to come in but couldn't say when that
would be. Only need the one. Let me know if anyone has one or if there is anywhere else I can get hold of one.
Thanks,
Matt
I used the brass part form a terminal block, tighthened up the screws then soldered it as well no problems
I've seen people use the brass terminal block items before WITHOUT them failing, but I don't have much faith in them myself for no good
reason
Theere used to be an online shop called speed-kartz (or something like that) that sold accessories for race karts and the like. I've used them
for all sorts of cable accories like accel. cables and the above needed clamps...
Sorry I can't remember it!
woohoo, I knew there was a Z in there somewhere!!!

Thanks for the replies so far but I'm actually after the one with the Sierra handbrake pull gland as per the one in my photo archive. Anyone
have one or know where to get hold of them?

hi, on mine I cut the cable off and carefully drilled the old cable out of the fitting and then through to the square hole and then soldered it back
on to the shortened cable.
it a bit old skool i know and it hasnt been on the road or through iva but you cant tell and ive given it a very good yank to test and it seems to
hold.

Don't know for definite but speedycables.com could well have something,
Failing that, I would ring round the various manufacturers who use sierra running gear - ie most of them
I just cut the cable near the handbrake lever drilled a hole through a setscrew to pass both cables through then tightened up with a nut and washers a locost way to do it
Have you tried biggred?
You may need to phone them.

MK sell the ones that are retained by screws.
Or EBay sell solder on ones;

If you cut off the existing one, drill out the existing crimped cable and then drill a hole thru the shaft, tap it 3mm you have opposing clamps, 2 x 3mm grub screws and you have what you were looking for, Ive done this on 2 Furys and a seven with no issues.
