Thats an interesting car.

If the engine is in the front, which the bonnet bulge suggests, the rads must be at the back.

Nickp - 28/1/17 at 08:17 PM

Seems a strange place to sell it, could be a bargain for someone unless it's been well advertised elsewhere-

I talked with the designer at Auto Sport, where he was trying to sell me the car.
If I had not already got a Mallock it would be very tempting
If I remember correctly, the rad' are in the side pods.

Whoever gets it will get a very quick car for either;
Sprint
Hillclimb
Clubmans CSP1 Championship

The 1800 Rover engine has been very heavily 'breathed'upon and should be around CSP1 BHP limit which is 200bhp

The car is mentioned on Uphill Racers and the Clubmans site.
So, depending who can be bothered to go to the auction it may be a bargain.
For the right price it is certainly worth finding garage space for it

Out of interest, what sort of money was he talking?

I think he was saying around £10,000, not entirely unreasonable.

But there are always deals to be done.

I wonder what the reserve at the auction will be, tempted to potter down to Bedford with some cash?

Not tempted personally, got enough on my plate But that price doesn't sound unreasonable at all especially if it does have a very high spec engine. And if someone was to end up paying £7-8K for it then I'd say that was a serious bargain, if they fit in it

The rights where sold to a company in Sweden who still make these. Interesting clubman car and will be really light with the Rover K series in it.

The p79 on uphillracers will go much cheaper than that.and has a c20xe motor in it which should be reliable

Thanks for sorting the pictures, it looks nicely made, if anyone was interested you need to register with Peacocks before you can bid. Also there are their charges too.

I think these classic style clubmans cars are fantastic. I would love this but know I could not drive it properly!
