FS - 205 GTI 1.9
nick205 - 5/1/16 at 04:20 PM

OK, having weighed it all up I'm thinking of selling my 205 GTI and puuting the money into a kit car build.

It's an F reg 1.9 in black with a sunroof and has been dry stored for a while.

It's (to me) what driving used to be like, fast, noisey and a bit edgy

I don't have photos to hand, but would price it around £1,800 (obviously you would need to tax it and insure it).

If you're interested, the car is located in Winchester and I would be pleased to see it go to a fellow enthusiast / LCBer.

Photos can be emailed and will be added on here when ready.

U2U me if you'd like to take a look or know someone who would.

Thanks,
Nick

That's the one

It has got new suspension and wheels fitted now though.

My wife was on the verge of being cross with me until I took her for a spin in it - she soon realised how important some things are

One other observation is how compact they are - you really are close to the road and open to the noise!

Superb fun though

From memory the mileage is at 115k.

Finally some images of my 205 GTI 1.9. Mileage is at 112,847 and it needs a wash and brush up to look it's best, but here you are....

Freshly powder coated 1.9 Speedline alloys with 4x new tyres fitted.

Don't suppose you'd like to swap for a 2001 MR2 in Silver with AC and hardtop?
I need something with a boot and the MR2 just doesn't cut it for storage space.

Why does it look like it's ready to go on a safari? That suspension looks high, is it stock?

coyoteboy - 17/1/16 at 11:00 PM

Does look higher than even my stock 1.1 did.

Having completely stripped and rebuilt the front end I can confirm it's done with standard parts and at standard ride height.

The rear beam was fully rebuilt by http://www.sspengineering.co.uk/ to standard ride height with standard Pug 205 GTI parts.

I have to be honest, the previous 205 GTIs I've had were modified (to their detriment) so not a direct comparison with this car.

First viewing is this Friday and I will update this thread with the results.

BUMP

Still for sale and needs to go as I can't drive for the time being

Matt159888 - 2/2/16 at 12:43 PM

That stance is too high. Looks like a 4x4 lol. Getting rare now for sure good look mate .

nick205 - 2/2/16 at 12:53 PM

It's been asked if the stance or ride height is correct. Having had two of them before I would say it does look high, but having sourced parts and rebuilt the front end myself and having had the rear beam removed and rebuilt I can advise that using standard parts it's at normal ride height. I suspect we're used to seeing modified (lowered) vehicles which make it look high though.

As before, I can't drive it and it needs to go I'm afraid!
