More progress...
Spent the last couple of days doing the transmission tunnel top, and sorting out the seating position amongst other little jobs.
The tunnel top is just some 1.5mm ali bent over the sides, then covered in vinyl to tidy it up. Its in 3 sections, the front and back ones hold the
middle section down.
Anyone got, or know where i can get some gaiter plate things, to put around the gearstick and handbrake gaiters to hold them in and tidy them up?
Thought i would put some more pics up...

That looks pretty tidy.
Can you not make your own gaiter plates from some ali? Make two - one a bit bigger than the other so you can drop the bigger one on top and sandwich
the vinyl between the two - turn the top outer edges over to clamp it all together then four chrome screws into the tunnel cover - job done. To a man
of your obvious talent it should'nt be too diff. Cheers, Pewe.

Vinyl came from woolies trim in peterboro. Its the same stuff people use for doing
dashboards etc. It tidies the panels up I think.
Matt, I have to sleep, the neighbours keep complaining
Thanks Pewe, I had a similar thought, and then considered that I would rather buy some, as I dont think I could make some that look as good as the
chrome/polished ones I have seen on other peoples cars.

for the gear ring, maybe try a aluminium tax disc holder. The ring part is ideal and already has holes for bolts. Quite cheap too!!

Very nice! Good job.
May I ask what seats you have? They look quite wide on top?

The seats are tritons wizard hat ones, rally des sell them now i think. Though I never got all the bits for mine from triton, so I wouldnt bother if I
were buying again I would just get the GTS ones. They have full shoulder support, so are quite wide across the top yes.
Like the tax disc holder idea, will have a look and see if they are big enough.
Cheers,
David
