Paddle Shift
Hello,
After not finding a reasonably priced paddle shift kit i have decided to have a go at making my own (it can only go wrong)
Could of questions,
1. Does anyone have some rough dimensions i can use as a starting point? I only have a sierra wheel at the min and want to make sure its not to big
once i downsize
2. How big should the center hole be?
3. Any suggestions on materials and thicknusses?
Thanks
Paul

1. Depends on the size of your (eventual wheel) some like 300mm, I preferred 275mm
2. Centre hole should be big enough to clear column (40mm) but also to rock from side to side. Hole therefore depends how much your paddle is going to
rock, which also depends on your Pivot/Fulcrum points. (I made mine 50x70 ovalised, or something like that!)
3. 6mm Ali will do fine, or you could make one in CF?

I made my own out of some scrap steel..
Make a cardboard template and try it...see if its right, then remake it....until you have a nice template...Took me a while..

I have a bit of exhaust tube which the steering shaft goes through...
I have welded some tags onto this tube for the paddle shift rose joints to bolt onto...
