which grp/carbon seats
Going to buy some light weight seats, but i am unsure of what makes are out there.
I found flukes seats to be an ok price at £500 each, but i wouldnt mind a cheaper option.
What are Mk's seats like? i could do with weight, price and how sturdy they are.
Bear in mind im only 12 stone and on the slim side so i want a nice tight fit.
is there anyone near to me with Mk grp seats i can sit in as i dont have the time to drive to notts to try before i buy?
Cheers.

Mk seats are perfect and very light
value for money is excellent compared to to others and fitment for you should be fine
although I doubt they do many different sizes anyway so you cant be choosey unless you pay

I bought some of a guy on ebay, his user name is redpip1984.
The seats come with optional pads.
They cost me £350 with pads and aluminium brackets.
They are high density grp so are light but strong. They only weigh about 5 kg each.

If you are in Surrey, pop around and have a look. They are for my next project and not fitted yet!
Mine are the ones shown as option A but with option D pads

I'm very happy with the Mac#1 seats despite requiring the FB ones
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=54468
Price was very good - includes the mounts in the above deal.
Have a big cross for strengthening in the back - didn't crack when I tried them for size (100kg). The narrower ones would be even stronger
presumably.
Next day delivery as well.

To be honest if £1000 for a pair of seats is 'ok' you might be worth going to Tillet they do full carbon seats for that.

I was thinking of getting those seats of ebay that look sweet especially with the padding.
Can you chose the colour of the padding ?

I can vouch for the GTS ones, they are very comfy, similar to the MK ones in styling i'm told but possibly a tad cheaper, don't know by
how much though, they now do padding for them as well, see the thread in the GTS section, there are some pictures of the demo car at Exeter wearing
padded seats, very nice.

cheers for the pics. i think both the gts and the mk ones look the part. I just need to sit in them both to see which ones fit the best.
where are gts based? if there near mk i can try them both out on the same trip and buy there and then.
Or has anyone local got these seats i could plant my butt into to try out?

low sides
At risk of being shot down in flames , has anybody got any with lower sides (in the hip area ) they can recommend , all these buckets look a tad tight
to me

They are narrower than a normal car seat, but then these need to hold you tighter. I find the worst bit to be the chest section, as I fit my ar$e in,
but not my chest/shoulders.

I have big bones (and the pie problem doesn't impact seat fit )
The Mac#1 FB seats for the larger gentleman fit me perfectly.

Also a pity the colour was as bad as your car
The GTS ones in the pic earlier in this thread, are they new ones as the pics on thier website dont 'tie up' with them? or could anyone
tell me which ones they are so i can ring up and order some.
cheers
