Pedalbox & bulkhead question
Right, now I've ordered my new brakes it's time to install the pedal box from OBP as well, and get things together again!
I've checked the drivers footwell, and I need to take the original pedals off and carefully cut/grind the associated welded-on brackets off the
lower box section for a fresh mount of the pedal box.
However, and this is my question to you all, the bulkhead panel has had a big hole (and 4 subsequent smaller holes for the mounting bolts) for the
Sierra then Fiesta M/C. These holes don't line up with any of the holes i'd need to drill for the new twin M/C setup, so my query is
this; can I cut a horizontal strip off the bulkhead panel and mount the pedal box with nuts & bolts on the top edge? Will the thickness of the
pedal box itself be sufficient for me stomping my foot on the brake pedal?
Or as an alternative, do I just mark out and drill the new holes required, and ignore the previous cut-outs (keeping as much of the original material
as possible)?
My concern is that the side panels are already riveted and bonded in place (not by me, I hasten to add), and it's gonna be a real pain to take
the whole bulkhead/footwell panel off and weld a new one on with this in place.
