vibrating mirror
Hi there, I have an issue with my rear view mirror, that when the engine is running it vibrates and distorts the view, i have read of a couple of
people failing IVA because of this so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to improve this. Many thanks
This is my mirror

Can't help you with your mirror vibes (although you helped me with mine)! But that is one very tidy looking build. - Interior, (often
neglected) chromed wishbones look the biz, engine bay smart and tidy, too. Well done!
Good luck with the IVA test - you will be doing yours about the same time I'm doing mine, I think.
Your mirrors aren't the ones I thought you said you were using, and they look to be mounted a bit low - are you sure you can see the floor level
10m behind (driver side)?
Regards, Steve.

I removed the mirror and placed some thick polythen over the socket and pushed the ball back into the socke it gives a tighter fit
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

hi, i did not need my rear view mirror through sva, as you could not see any think, because of the section of roll bar on the mk.
but i did put extra fibreglass under the scuttle and it stopped a lot of the vibrations
very nice build greg

Hi mate thanks for your comments, as for the mirrors i did have some chrome hyabusa mirrors on but where they were for a bike i couldnt get enough
field of vision in the passenger mirror so i then changed to the E-techs which give loads of adjustment as you probably now know!

Could you bond/stick a largish aluminium plate underneath?
Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just
went on and on.

Ha ha was expecting that one!
Looks like a big plate under the scuttle and packing out the ball joint will give these a try, thanks again!

I think I've got the same mirror on my Indy, all I did was glob a bit of blue hylomar (it was at the top of the drawer, no other reason) on the
ball, and then pop the mirror back on once it had set a bit. No issues with it at my IVA test
