Got my seats last week - beautiful things they are too, thanks, Mark
Just pondering the best way to mount them, as the seat base has a bowl for your arse that goes slightly lower than the anchornuts in the base -
I'm guessing that everyone else uses some kind of spacer arrangement??
Also while I'm on here, I am looking for some paint to re-do the cabin floor (inside) - the powdercoat is not too clever...tried smootherite, but
looked crap and was easily scraped off where it went over the existing powdercoat - any recommendations?
Cheers, Rich.
How much lower is it? I'm just about to stick an order in for a set of these.
Cheers mate
We used 4 tubes of aluminium about 32mm in length about 20mm diameter.

Cheers, Steve - that's more or less what I was thinking of doing!!
Richard, They arrived then.
You will have to change your Avatar now,
Those Cobra seats look exactly like the ones I have.

Hi Richard, see the Luego powder coating is as good as ever(Old Luego) Do you find your feet tend to slip about on the floor ? if so try some self adhesive anti slip . The mother in law had a wheelchair ramp covered in it and had a bit left over that I used . Seen some on ebay but if you have a local skateboard shop give them a try. Well worth doing IMHO

Rescued attachment seat.jpg
Mounted mine the same as madteg, got the front about 40mm higher than the back though to get me 'ead down
Yep......took the Cobra Low style universal runners off the Cobra-Cubs and fitted straight on to the Triton seats........
So when I want to change the seats, its not too much hassle.......
Also slightly tilted back to get me 'ed a bit lower!
Fozzie
cheers lads.
Morning folks, Sorry not been on for a few days....wee bit hectic you might say.
I will sit down tonight and catch up on emails and u2u's..Great being your own boss but sometimes you let yourself get away with things you
should be doing...doh!
Had thoughts on altering the base section if folk feel it proves to be a tad awkward to fit the seats so any response on this is most welcome.
Like: do you feel the bottom of the base should be flush with bottom of the seat. It's like it is so runners don't lift the sitting
position to high but if it makes mounting them easier I will change it.
Now my mezzanine floor is sorted I can get back to normal but on saying that my veedub is in being fettled and the Chimpatrician still needs to create
even more havoc...running on trailing leads from 1 plug top....not what you call safe as that's lights and sockets from 1 13amp plug top!
Off to work but back later as the boss is looking over his shoulder at himself....
Mark
I would leave them as they are Mark, as it's very easy to mount runners now, and using a couple of spacers if you don't want to have runners
is easy. Now people have a choice. Maybe you should just consider selling ready made spacers, so it will safe people the hassle of coming up with
something themselves.
Do you also do those seats in woven cloth by the way? If yes, how much would they be? (low sided smoothies)
Mave.
I can do them in woven cloth no problem, I use csm to keep prices down to a price folk can afford and I still earn a living...sticky/messy living but
a living nonetheless. Anything other than the norm I have to charge more for obvious reasons but usually try to just cover extra cost of materials.
Just checked material prices and Low sided in woven cloth would be a nice "Locost" price of £195.00 per pair....not bad I thought
Cheers,
Mark
Sounds like an excellent price Mark, and they're definately on my short list for my next project.
