When you had your car SVA'd were there any issues with the lap straps of the harnesses passing across too high up the body? I have no pads in mine, and am wordering whether i need some for SVA time...

Likewise any problems with upper harness holes. Mine seem to be about the right height (the belts dont touch the bottom or top of the slots at all) but the belts touch the sides of the slots when you are strapped in.

I had edge trim all the way round, and inside the harness holes

No issues with the seat belts at waist level. He seemed happy enough with the belt fixed to the chassis point and passing over the seat edge.

Only slight problem was that as the upper seat belt mounting point was marginal when it was level to achieve the right height above the seat base. This was an easy fix as he allowed me to turn the top hat bushes over to get the extra couple of mm I needed.

One thing to note though is my seats were / are not mounted flat to the floor. The rear mounts sit on the steel bars that cross the chassis, but the front ones are raised up on a 50mm x 25mm section of aluminium. This effectively tipped the seat back for me, as I found they stretched my calfs and the back of my thighs when mounted square on to the floor.

Post SVA I fitted the seat base and back pad with foam and vinyl.

Thanks for the info. I have my belts set exactly as you, but my seats bolted straight to the floor, so hopefully will be ok on height. Edge trim on the edges and in the holes.

Mine just seem a bit high across the waist, but it does depend how tight you pull the shoulder straps up obviously!

I never got my inserts from Triton before his disappearing act, so I am going to have to make my own pads anyway, which I plan to do post sva.

As far as I can recall I wasn't in the car when he tested the belts at the SVA.

He was interested in checking the release mechanism, the markings on the belts themselves, the grade of bolts and the exact measurement of the height of the mounting above the base of the seat. (With a level, a bit of string and a tape measure (very Heath Robinson)).

I cut holes at the bottom corners, as I was worried that the strap was being held too high off my lap - same concern as you.

Here's a pic with the cushion removed. Originally I had some clip-on edging around the hole, But it seemed to create more risk of rubbing than without. I just made sure that the edge of the hole was nice and smooth.
