What about a nice engine-turned dash? It would certainly be in keeping with the Locost image. Rescued attachment engine-turned_dash_panel.jpg

"Retro" is the word, Mark!

I think it can look smart, if done nicely.

Used on our dash... It's the one thing most other kit car builders comment on...

Nice dash Sea Bass, but I hope those pints didn't leave unsightly rings on your rear arch

Nice dash, did it get through SVA OK ?

How is it fastened to the scuttle ?

Little unsure about the dash - I guess it's all down to preference. I do like those "Pint Holders" you have Seabass... when you said your car had a "flat spot" I didn't assume you meant on top of the rear arches

The dash was designed to mimic 'older' style british cars. Many others, Hellfire included, have opted for a more contemporary layout. It passed SVA fine this way, all the gauges are covered by a piece of acrylic to get round radius worries. We were going to remove it after SVA but it's now been on for two years.

My personal favourite dash of all time has to be the original Lotus Elite... mmm What a car.

I thought about doing this and having the panel anodized flat black afterward. I think it would be a nice mix of old and new. But I would make a panel similar to Hellfire's, then do the machining.

Anodising will negate the pattern and just render the panel flat black.
