Hi guys,
Building a Haynes roadster and have almost all the chassis done now, drive train going in as we speak.
Trying to finish off as much chassis welding as I can.
One bit I haven't started is seat mountings.
Is there any good seat mounts to use that have dimensions etc so I can check what extra box section I might need?
One that gives me options of what seats I can fit later etc?

I used adjustable seat runners (ebay item 400445128863) for the drivers seat. I had to make custom subframes for both seats. I would recommend getting hold of the runners as fitting supports just by measurements is going to cause problems.
I'm mounting onto 3mm x 25mm strips. you don't need to use box section

I guess one issue is what the seats, I will not know mounting position for the seats. Can anyone recommend a good place to get some low cost seats,
padded or GRP type are fine.
Will the 3mm x 25mm be strong enough? The distance between the two cross box sections I am mounting too are 763 mm front to back or 452 mm left to
right?
I would go wider than 25mm tbh,once you have drilled 25mm flat bar you haven't got much meat either side, also it doesn't give you much
leeway for fitting any different seats at a later date etc.
My Mac1 has circa 50mm flat plate, which at a guess is 5mm thick,running across the floor pans.

You need to get the seats first, them fabricate the mountings to suit.

Check your seating height if you use box section, as 20mm extra height can make a big difference once sat in the seat

Yeah I like the idea of box section as its not far off the same weight as flat plate as its thinner but as strong if not stronger.
What are the little raised parts for at each of the four mounting points for?
