Hi All
I got an old sierra column but no key. I want it all to work & assumed I'd have to get a new barrel from ford. How do I get the old one out??? Any other ideas
Ta

Sure I've read somewhere that they don't come out. I bought my column from a local scrapper and ended up digging through a bucket full to the brim with various keys. Found the right one eventually.

Put the key in and turn it to the run position then use a thin screwdriver or similar to disengage the spring clip down the hole in the housing. Then jer jer jiggle the key and pull at the same time. I don't know if they do a barrel but you used to be able to get a complete switch. You might find a barrel from an Escort or Fiesta fits in it if you find one with a key.

Pete, he hasn't got the key!

Only option is to drill out the securing peg

I have all the answers tonight...
I have a Sierra barrel with a key.
Couple of quid and it's yours if you want?

OOps!!! Biggest drill you own straight down the middle and mangle it out with grips or get a complete switch. It's only held on with grub screws I think. Look at a Mk2 Fiesta if you can find one they look similar to me.

Mr Madforfishing, that sounds like an excellent deal! U2U me your address & I'll send you an SAE.
How do you want paying? cheque or fiver to Anthony Molan bone marrow trust?? (there's a collection box in our canteen)
Cheers
