SVA dash complete !!!
givemethebighammer - 4/7/04 at 02:08 PM

After several weeks of messing around I have finally finished and wired my SVA dash. Basically it's made from 5mm MDF, with 5mm thick camping roll mat glued and stapled to it then finished with black vinyl material glued and stapled to the roll mat. Ended up buying a set of VDO gauges from lowtension due to having problems finding senders and ways of getting an accurate reading from the speedo with the old triumph dolomite gauges I had intended to use (however managed to sell them for a little more than I bought them for !!). I kept the triumph "cheese wedge" dash warning light unit and modified it as SeaBass details on his site http://www.bass2dark.freeserve.co.uk/141003/141003.htm

So enough padding to sleep on, loom all covered and secure... enough for Mr SVA ? I sure hope so.

Then..... on goes the carbon dash.. layout the same as the photos just carbon......mmmmm

nope, but the bottom of the dash has to have a 19mm radius is it isn't.

Padded dash makes it easier to recess instruments etc and doesn't need as larger radius on the bottom (5mm I think).

I am going to change this one for the carbon one I am currently making after the SVA. (just waiting for the carbon sheet to arrive).
