lower harness mounts?
daniel mason - 17/11/10 at 10:11 PM

how have you guys mounted the threaded eye bolts for the lower harness mounts? i have the trs harnesses with clip on mounting buckles but i dont fancy just bolting the eye bolts to the to the ali floor!

threaded bush welded to the chasis, I have seen people recommend photoghraphing the way the mounts are fitted for IVA purposed. These have to be substantial mounts as the forces applied upon impact are massive

Does the MNR chassis not have lower belt mounts welded into the chassis?

daniel mason - 17/11/10 at 10:52 PM

No lower mounting points on the Mnr chassis

That does surprise me.

Have a look at the IVA manual. The old SVA one had quite detailed description and drawings of what was and wasn't allowed with belt mounts.

Well the drivers side outer one isn't in the picture and the passenger inner is obscured by the tunnel I'd presume.

Ditto with what Adrian said

daniel mason - 18/11/10 at 04:50 PM

it has those small steel plates welded in but they are only very thin (2-3 mm) and i dont want to use them as my only protection. any other options?

Johneturbo - 18/11/10 at 05:00 PM

what you need to do is when you buy your harneses also buy these to sit under

will be fine unless you weigh 50stone!?

the steel plates are for the harnesses

you think about how much force you'd require to brake them.. sheesh
