Reason for concern?
Hi all, sorry for the amount of pictures, needed to explain my question.
Last days I have been fabricating the handbrake adjuster and balance bar, as well as the outer cable bracket.
In situ top view
At ride height the routing of the cables looks fine:
Routing ride height
However with both wheels @ full bump it doesn't look good:
Cable both wheels full bump
and:
Cable routing wheels full bump
Left wheel @ ride height; right wheel @ full bump:
L ride height R full bump
HERE IS MY QUESTION:
Is this reason for concern? When will both wheels have full bump? (not so often). Will a bracket to hold the cables be sufficient?
I have already some plans to move the horizontal member upwards to create more space for the cable bracket, just to be on the safe side.
Any tips/ hint/ comments??
As this is 'the book' design, more people should have this problem. Escort live axle, Austin Allegro cables, Escort H/B handle.
Thanks!

I've found this on both my builds, I moved the bracket holding the cables to the rear of the tunnel and angled it up to clear the diff. I think
if the SVA tester thinks it may touch he might fail it.

Maybe..... if the speed bump is 8 inches high and you hit it at about 80mph and your springs are knackered

OK. Concluding from the comments by scutter and MrWhippy is should re-design the chassis / handbrake cable brackets to provide more space.
Anybody have more ideas? With the current H/B handle location (cq. arm-rest ) and the adjuster, there is not enough length of inner cable to move
the cable bracket to rear of transmission tunnel.

Ok, how about moving it above the rear panel centre cross brace and making a raised rear section to the tunnel, like this.

scutter: Nice alternative! I need to check if this arrangement will clear the HB-handle bracket. (since the cable/adjuster will go upwards from the
handle)
