Master Cylinder Bendix/Girling?

Afternoon all,

Been trying to find a seal kit for my Sierra 86' M/C today.

My ford dealer said there are 2 types of M/C on my year of donor, Girling or Bendix and he can get a seal kit for either, £30 + VAT.

Problem is we are having trouble ID ing the cylinder as it has no external or internal marks to give it away, can anybody shed some light on which type it is?

I have more massive massive pics if this helps, info on the cyl is 74660862 P on one side, the alphabet A-O and SQ103 on the other, also 66315 04 38/6/2 27AV on the plastic loop tag?!?

Alternatively can anyone suggest a replacement M/C with correct orientation mounting holes?

Thanks as always

This alone tells me that it is a Girling m/cylinder. I used to work for what's left of them (now TRW Automotive) and that is their part No - probably for the master cylinder body casting.

Took me ages to find a seal kit for my leaky one. Eventually found one on ebay.

Fitted all seals etc. bloody thing never worked properly after that.

So bought another m/cyl from someone on here.

That's a helpyful post, isn't it!

Cheers,
James

Thanks for the help, the plastic tag No didn't help the guy in Ford

Do you think £30+Vat is reasonable for a seal kit? It works great just weeping a little on the rear seal out to the pushrod, Been quoted circa £100 for a new M/C

Just spotted this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-SIERRA-SAPPHIRE-BRAKE-MASTER-CYLINDER_W0QQitemZ350090877892QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item350090877892&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39% 3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Does anyone know if this will fit my resevoir and hole orientation? The outlets being the other side is of no importance however it does confirm mine is a girling.
