Wishbone Construction Progress
this is my front left wishbone, to connect my miata uprights to my +442 chassis.
its not finished yet I still have to add the pushrod pivot
my photography skills leave a lot to be desired, the bent tubes looked necked but they're not, the chassis brackets look bent and misaligned but
they're not either
in fact the whole thing looks pretty rough in the pics, I am really pleased though, little steps
Front Left Bone, end
Front Left Bone, whole

Nice! Why didn't you just buy them like everyone else? Just a question!!

had seen some of the offerings from one or 2 of the companies and didn't like the look of them.
yours however is the exception, I especially like how the rear suspension is setup.
who is the manufacturer
also is that a painless loom in your pics?

This is not critisim, just some advice.
I would put in a diagonal brace in them because they look quite long to me and may flex.
I would run it from the rear bush to about where that little square on your baseboard is.

I wouldn't. One tube too many. BUT..That outer plate might have come in just past the bends. Or better, the bends might have been out a bit
further. Just a thought for when you do some more for the next build.
Cheers,
Syd.

or why not straight tubes and angled plates?
i do think they look good though and your welding doesn't look bad either.

some good advice there chaps,
like I said they're not done yet, but I was surprised by the amount of flex and had planned to put in a perpendicular cross brace next to the
inner bushes
I didn't extend the square plate further in as there will be very little bending moment on the middle of the tubes and the pushrod will act on
the very outer end of the wishbone.
@indykid
I could have made the tubes straight but then my shiny new Protool Bender would be all lonely in the corner of the shed not being used

My frame is a redesign of the MK, by Deman/British American Motorsport. The guy who started Deman sold to BAM recently, which was a good thing,
because he ripped a lot of people off. The rear end design was by Seth at BAM in Lachine, QC (Montreal).
Got my left panel sikaflexed and rivetted on last night! I want to make progress befor taking 3 weeks off for holidays to the West Coast. Pics
updated.
