Diff breather pipe
OK - i snapped the breather pipe off my diff......
does anyone know how much of a problem this is and whether it is difficult to repair/replace? - or if I even need bother??

it does need the breather as expansion and contraction of oil could cause slight pressure drop, same reason for petrol tank having a breather
really.
Normally on the Sierra it's routed into somewhere dry and out of the way. If you take it off altogether, you could end up with debris getting in
so I'd replace it with rubber/plastic and route it likewise, out of the way.

They're only 10cm long on sierra and almost without fail will be perished and useless anyway, so I'd imagine you can do with out.

i folded mine in half so no oil would spill, sure enough it split anyway. Gonna worry about it later, but probably just bodge it somehow...

Ford Part number
I beleive the Ford part number for the breather is
90 BG 4022 AB
They should be about £1.20 +VAT if Ford can still get hold of them!
