M14 thread connectors
For extending the track rods on a mk2 escort rack.
Loads of places do M14 threaded bar in high tensile steel, and a lot places do thread connectors (short length of hex bar drilled and tapped).
However, the connectors never seem to be available in M14, they always seem to jump from M12 to M16.

Does anyone know anywhere that does M14 connectors or will I have to get some hex bar and make my own (or rather get my mate to do it!)

seen enough racing cars with theaded alloy tube for 4 link axles, BECs too, never seen to fail.
i got a pair of the rally design ones, i like them

Yeah I tried everywhere for m14 threaded connectors but they just don't seem to exist. Dunno how people join the threaded rod.  Had to buy
extenders from GTS in the end. Rally Designs are from GTS just without the same wait

Mmmm, I wasn't able to buy the size I needed so I made mine from studding and m/s round bar.
Locked the thread in place with a roll pin. (see pic)

Why not the thread on the round bar?
Is that due strenght problems or just easier to fabricate?

Did those tubes have male threads formed at the ends? I suspect they had steel rod ends screwed into inserts in each end of the tube...

I've not come across M14 threaded bar. The thread used is ISO standard not some rare fine thread so it should be possible to track down.
I had to have some extensions made from one 25 mm HT bolt. Cut, dDrilled and tapped and turned down so I could put on a thread - the hardest part.
there are hand filed hex flats to a spanner could be used.

Sadly my turning ability does not extend to machining threads,  and I couldn't justify buying a die just to cut two threads.
It was bad enough spending £14 on a tap.

I bought these from Westfield just the other day, 9 quid odd each plus VAT - M14 X 1.5
