caliper piston

I´m having trouble finding replacement caliper piston for sierra front calipers. Can I make one myself as it looks just simple lathe work? Stainless maybe? Rescued attachment Slika136.jpg

yes you can lathe one up, stainless is fine infact an upgrade if you are refurbing landrover calipers.

You will need to get a good finish.

biggred pistons are SS machine up on a lathe... Like said depends if you can get a good finish, then you can do em yourself.. The biggred pistons I have just fitted had a good finish but I did carefully ploish the machine marks out with some scotch bright (moving along the machine lines NOT across!)..

The bigg red ones are 12 pounds each. However, I have bought some reconditioned calipers from autoware13 on ebay, they are 30 pounds each. He does not have them listed on ebay, but you can send him a message.

a already talked to a guy on CNC lathe at my work and he says he can achieve almost mirror like finish, and can turn them in no time. and it would cost me only a beer or two.
