Gap between gearbox and propshaft
Hi Guys,
How much float should there be between the back end of the gearbox and the propshaft flange.
Does mine look ok is it too much or not enough
Any advice gratefully received
Cheers

How long is the nose on the prop? Standard great big thing? If so, then a little extra gap won't hurt, and should remove any chance of it
locking up. Not that it should with a de-dion, but I'd prefer to be on the safe side. Might also make removing it easier in the future.

As said above, a roughly 1" gap should be sufficient. This should allow the enigne and diff to wobble about a bit without
'bottoming' out on the gearbox.

Prop Frre Play
I always allowed 25mm when I built props.
As long as the prop does not "bottom" in the box you will be OK.
However under load the engine and gearbox and the axle can move quite a bit.
