Nice Job!

Ok I have to know, becuase my diff is out and I've always wanted to get it loking new. What paint did you use?

I bought some silver "Aluminium Paint" but it turned out it contained aluminium and could be painted on wood or ferous metal... DOH!

That looks GOOD!

If you ever reverse over anybody they will be in for a real treat .
You can use wheel silver aerosol paint on your aluminium stuff to tart it up Charlie.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Don't think its a 7.5", the top mounting doesn't appear to be any longer than a 7" one.

It does however look very very nice. I think "bit of a scrub" is a large understatement!

Reason I ask is that I am reliably informed 7.5" diffs have a solid top mount (as on Locoboys) and 7" ones have a cut away top mount. I asked a question about it a while back!

guys,

Its a 7.5 Cossie LSD, Flak you know your diffs!

Seriously all i did was use Gunk foam aerosol degreaser,

steam wash it at work

then yesterday morning give it a good session with the hand held wire brush and then using a jewelers screwdriver to scrape the oxidisation off in the deep holes between the strengthening ribs.

2 coats of Wliko's own metal primer (spray)

then 2 coats of Plastikote metalic silver spray (up to 240deg C)

The back plate was done with the same primer and then using Plastikote Black super gloss as top coat.

The bolts and plug were done in the metalic silver.

All in all probably about 3 hours work. I had to replace the backplate anyway as it was cracked so thought i should make the effort whilst it was off

I used gunk on mine to get most of the grease off, then chucked it in the bead blaster.
