confirmation this is a mk2 escort steering rack?
took the nose cone off so am able to get better piccy of the steering rack.
Is this definiitely a mk2 escort rack or can it be something else, say 1980 Capri 1600? (unless it uses the same rack?)

Mk1 or Mk2 only way to tell is the the track rod threads.

mk1 being imperial, mk2 being metric, m16 from memory!?
I guess I need to find out which since it is the track rod that I need!!

I assume that is what I have but the bloke I bought the kit from says everyting is of a 1980 1600 capri; I know that the rack and rear axle dueto
smaller dru8ms arenlt and I suspectthe front hub carriers and discs arenlt either.

Show us a picture of the uprights. Capri's use struts (like Sierra) so it would have to have some form of adaptor for the ball joints if they
are from a Capri.
