handbrake tightening

I have a sierra handbrake which has a cut inner cable to suit the length of my VortX. How do I attach this using the cable clamps? I have tried but it is "a bit" loose.
How do I tighten it up?

I have 2 cable clamps supplied with my handbrake cable that should do the job. My question is how do I do it?

id get a friend to help, maybe voilently pulling whilst you do it tight! Couldnt the self adjusters be used somehow? im not sure how they work, or even what they do, but it is meant to adjust to keep itself tight as the pads wear out

cut the cable, around about in the middle, and leave the tails on.
wind the adjuster on the cable right up, so the springy outer of the cable is near enough touching the semi circular balancer bit, then pull the cable tightish, and do up the cable cleats.
wind up the adjuster to pull the outer sheath of the cable back though the rear bulkhead, and tension the cable.
that was how i did it originally, but when i modded it for the p6 handbrake, i set it up thereabouts, then used a bar onto the diff flange to lever the half moon adjuster thing towards the hanbrake. both tensioning methods work as well, but the first is slightly more accurate.

it should eventually look like this. on the packet for my cable cleats, it said use 3, so that's what it got.
hth, hope it was what you wanted to know
