Escort steering rack
I am a virign Locost bulider and have been buying parts as and when I have time to fit the, or can afford it. I have built the front wishbones
assembly using Cortina uprights and hubs (don't know which mark). I have bought an Escort rack, and fitted Cortina ends. However, seem to be having
trouble fitting the steering rack ends in the uprights.
What am I doing wrong?

The cortina uprights need to be off the later models. Is there a suspension strut attached or is it just a hub with holes for top/bottom joints and
rack?
I have attached a picture which shows it at a bad angle, but you'll get the gist

thanks,
I got them from M Keenan, so assume are okay. The uprights have to top and bottom attachments to wishbones, and thne the part that looks like it is
where steering rack ends go.

just go over that bit about the uprights having to be off a later cortina, I have just found a Mk3 in a scrappy and I thought the uprights were all
the same for all Mk3,4,5's.
It has taken ages to find these, please tell me that the Mk3's are OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cortina 3/4/5s uprights are all the same; the only real difference to watch for is that Mk3s and early Mk4s had UNF wheel studs.
Silly question, are you putting the ball joints into the steering arms the right way-so the fixing nut is at the top?
Dont just build it.....make it!

Oh dear! Yes - I offered everything up last night and, indeed, it goes in the bottom and not the top!
Thanks
