Sierra Steering Column Bush. The Triangular One?
I need this bush... anyone have a part number or supplier?
I can’t seem to find it available (or even referenced) anywhere online. I guess I’m not using the right search terms

Pretty sure my old column is in the garage somewhere, complete with bush.
Will try and get time to look tomorrow for you.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure

Ah but that’s the grey bush, the white one pictured is harder to find

Oh I hadn't looked at pic!
I would say that's part of column,as it doesn't wear in normal use they would never make replacements?

The triangular bush was always supplied as part of the steering column bush kit in the past, not sure if it still is but would have thought so

You've made the same mistake as me!!!
Look at his pic,he's after the white insert from the collapsible section of the column, which I'm pretty sure would come with the column
and won't be avaliable separately as they never wear.

I think that bush is an integral part of the column when it's manufactured and is not replaceable. It's what allows the column to collapse
under impact. It's a nylon type material that is presumably crushed/heated to fit the inner and outer shafts together and small extruded pips
pop through holes in the outer shaft to keep it located. The pips break under impact and the inner shaft slides in.
I bust one trying to remove a steering wheel many years ago. I put the shafts back where they should be then drilled through the bush where the pips
were and replaced it with a 4 mm ali pin (knitting needle!). I reasoned that that had about the same strength as the original pips so would let go in
an impact and it worked for years.

I bust mine trying to assemble the column to a power steering motor. Had to tap the shaft on and hit the plastic in error. doh!
It seems Ive only broken the outer rim and the main part of the bush is is still ok. Not sure if serviceable though...
I'm going o have ago at designing and 3dprinting it

Due to the ancient forum software pics from my phone fail to upload to the photo archive. I do wish it would get brought up to date so that it works
with mobiles but guess that’s not happening any time soon.
Anyway here’s a link to a photo or two of the column I have - note the lock has been removed, but does have the other bush that everyone is keen to
point to as well

Can’t really split it so how about the whole lot for £20

On my Sierra column the bushes were raptured and started to move. To fix them I used countersunk rivets.

Have you tried a Ford main dealer?
If you show them the photo they may be able to supply the bush (or a kit with the bush).
My local main dealer (Winchester) parts counter were very helpful during my MK Indy build.
