Sierra diff pinion shaft bearing nut?
Can anyone confirm that 41 mm 12 point DIN 838 deep offset ring end wrench can be used for Sierra diff pinion nut? The nut itself marked with red
circle on the diagram below.

I had one here couple weeks back, but diff has been built now, typical.
its deffo a multi point nut.
a spanner will be ok for stripping the diff down, but not rebuilding one as you need to torque that nut to a set figure to compress crush tube
correctly from what I understand.

Just remembered I've got the old nut, I've not got a 40mm multi point socket to test on it though, but measured with a vernier and it is
40mm

That's interesting, thanks Kevin.
I also measured the tips of the nut within diff housing and it showed 41 mm. To check I drew a 1:1 scale template with 41 mm tip dimension, printed it
out and cut with scissors. And when put on the the nut it was a bit tight. So I think I will try once again with 42 mm.

Yeah your right, its nearly 41mm on vernier.
