MASTER CYLINDER PLUMBING
Hi All,
I have a Nissan Micra K11 Servo and Master cylinder assembly now mounted in the locost and i am trying desperately to find a brake line drawing to
identify the ports, as there are x4 in total on the master cylinder. ( cannot work out how to add photo ) !!
Any assistance greatly received.

Ok First,
To upload a picture to the site, click on Photo Archive under the locostbuilders banner this takes you to your photo archive area.
To upload a picture click the browse button in the Upload new photo area
Description
Add a description if needed and then Upload.
Then go back to you archive and click in the image uploaded. At the top where it says forum code with the [pg]code[/pg] select that and paste that
into your post to include the image within your post like the ones shown here.

If you do that and upload an image of the MS then someone may be able to help, sorry but that isnt something I know about

Three ways to plumb it...
1) Two front ports to front brakes and two rear ports to rear brakes.
2) Block one front and one rear port (bleed nipples will do the job) then run the remaining front outlet to the front with a T piece splitting it
somewhere at the front of the chassis to the 2 sides and the rear outlet in a single pipe down the tunnel with a T splitting it at the rear to the 2
sides.
3) Two front outlets to the two front brakes, block one rear outlet and run a single pipe down the tunnel fromthe other with a T to split at the
rear.
All will work equally but will require different amounts of plumbing... All assuming your going for a front/rear split and not a diagonal split and
that the M/cyl isn't stepped (pretty sure they're not on Micra)

AFAIR the Nissan Micra had an "X-split" brake system. Explanation - 1st circuit: Front RHS brake connected to Rear LHS brake. 2nd circuit
- Front LHS brake connected to Rear RHS brake. One circuit was connected to one of the 2 master cyl chambers, with the other circuit connected to the
other chamber. This meant that the master cyl had to have a 50/50 split, in displacement terms.
Fairly standard set-up for nearly all the smaller FWD European cars made in last 20-odd years.
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

Many thanks to All, I think I will opt for the x2 ports split to the fronts, and the x1 port to a split T to the rear, with the extra one blocked off.
appreciated the assistance, hopefully get my photo operation sorted out and put a few snaps on. cheers
