track day tyres
Today I've been offered a cut price upgrade of trackday tyres from proxes T-1S to proxes r888 due to the amount of time i've been waitng for
delivery of my wheels.
according to Toyos website they give good handling in wet and excellent in dry, but for a car i intend to drive all year round, would it be wise to
opt for this upgrade?
I'm sure someone out there must be running something similar and can give me some sort of idea of what to expect in the wet!
Help. my wheels will be leaving the supplier on monday so need to know yesterday ideally. My main concern is stacking the indy back/side/forwards into
a hedge all because i got tyres that look pretty.
Anyway, any information greatly appreciated

They are about the same as the Yoko A048R apparantly, so they won;t be as good in the wet as the T1S, but miles ahead in the dry. I doubt you would
take it out in the rain very often though?

if its the trye in the pic it looks like a copy of yoko's 048, or is the 048 a copy of the toyo?
anyway the 048 is excellent in the dry and not too bad in the wet, that said most 7's are a handfull in the wet to a point where there not much
fun.

i'd never cane it in the wet, but chances are it would get driven in all conditions. That's how it's been designed throughout build
and would hope it would see more than just dry weekend driving(being my only car and all as yet)

just found a better picture of tread pattern. quite similar to a048r just without dog leggy bit

the 048 is the control trye for the RGB race sereies, there was some concern over its wet weather performance before the season started, after several
wet races it seems to perform ok but it needs to warm up before it works ok, if the toyo is the same be aware you will have little grip till it warms
up a bit wet or dry.

To be honest, they will be good enough to get you home if you get caught out without being dangerous, (like the Yokos), and most people don't
purposefully take out their car when it is about to rain.
