Wheel Refurb

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone has used City Powder Coating in Birmingham. They seem to be doing an alloy wheel refurb for £20 per wheel, which sounds a good price if it's a good job.

Sounds a bit cheap to me but it depends on what they do for that money i.e. is that for your supplying bare wheels or do they take your tyres off and refit with new valves, balance etc. etc. ?
I've been looking at having mine re-furbed and if you google "alloy wheel refurb" there's lots of forum based info.
You do need to dig a bit to find the useful stuff though.
HTH and be useful to know how you get on if you do use them - might even be worth my while driving up from Reading.
Cheers, Pewe

I doubt for £20 they do much more than spray a halfords paint mix over them!

I have paid £50 per wheel, by the company in Crawley, and have been very pleased with there results

3rd post in the last couple of months asking exactly the same question!
I have now had 3 sets of wheels done by them and the finish has been fine, the first set are still on my mondeo after 12 months and the only damage is due to my own inability to avoid magnetic kerbs!
If you want a straight forward refinish or colour change they offer a cheap reasonable option but they do not do repairs or wheel straightening so anything other than the odd chip or shallow gauge will still show up

Thanks all for advice. Of course I did come across a previous post just after I'd sent mine..............

My wheels have a few gouges so I'd better have another think.

Dragging up an old thread! So... how were they? Considering using them myself, but read mixed reviews.

Shame on me!!!

Well I think for the price they are very good.
Cost me £120, for taking bare rims, blasting (or whatever they do, powder coating and fitting and balancing the new tyres I'd supplied.
My wheels wrest in bad shape, just normal Toyaot corrosion, but , fot that price I really don't think it would be worth my time and effort with cans.
Whether they'll survive a winter? Who knows, bit so far we;re really pleased

Stupid comments like this annoy me, no knowledge of what the company offer and can't be bothered to find out before posting crap about them!

For your info they blast, dip and powdercoat inside and out for £20 a wheel
