Newbie
Hi All,
I have been a member for a short while, looking at posts & enjoying the banter!
This is my first post so here goes.
I have ordered a Typhoon Valdris Kit Car, Based on a Mk2 Mondeo.
The Kit will be ready for collection by the end of Feb.
I have now got my donor car (2000, 2L 100k Mondeo) & made a small start stripping it.
I live in the most easterly point in Britain, is there anyone else around here?
When the car has passed its Iva, I would like to Join a Kit Car club & do Track days etc.
I Look forward to your help, comments or general sarcasm!
Andy

Take a photo, and upload it to your photo archive here on LocostBuilders. When you do this, you'll see a line at the bottom of the picture that
looks like this:
quote:
Forum Code: http://locostbuilders.co.uk/upload/Fiesta_1.jpg
Copy this line into the text that your posting, and when you post your reply, the photo will appear within your text. Like this:

<tada!>
Note that I've put a couply of extra spaces in the and tags so that I could show you the code.
Also try to make sure that your photos aren't too huge (800x600 is good) and that you upload them with a simple filename (don't include
weird characters such as punctuation etc).
HTH,
Ed.

Hello and welcome.
To start a photo archive, just click on 'photo archive' just under the banner, decide what folders you'd like, and upload away.
You can post pics in posts, just copy and paste the [IMG]........[IMG] address under each picture.
Be careful of the size though.

Also, not sure if it's the most local to you, but there's a great kit car club in Diss. Click here for details
<<LINK>>
Piddy is the organiser for this fine club and he's a member on here. The next meet is not until the 13th of March...

Other things you may want to bear in mind:
1 - Keep receipts for everything you buy!
2 - Download a copy of the IVA manual. It will answer 90% of the 'will this be ok?' questions and help you get a first-time pass
3 - Keep the donor ECU, ignition barrel and keys. You then have the option of using this ECU rather than spending extra on a Megasquirt/Emerald or
similar. you can always upgrade later, and the Ford ECUs are self-learning so do not need rolling-road setups or similar.
4 - SORN your donor vehicle, but do not scrap it until after the IVA/DVLA process. This is essential if you want an age-related registration plate.
Keep the donor V5 somewhere safe... If you do need to get rid of the donor earlier due to space etc, then keep all the VIN plates etc, and cut up the
shell and weigh it in as scrap metal, not a scrap car. If you can keep the donor then it will be an invaluable source of wires, clips, offcuts of
steel etc during the build.
