Hi
There is absolutely no good reason for taking the column through the front bulkhead. It gets in the way of you feet and the angle it then produces at
the wheel when placed at a comfortable height means the wheel is all wrong.
Take it over the top of the front bulkhead. Gives the feet more clearance. Puts the wheel at a far better angle to your body. And makes mounting the
front support so much easier.
Just my 2P worth .lol

Here's mine
Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

a per matts post, take the steering over the top not under, unless you want to feel like your driving a bus or truck

Sorry for the ancient thread resurrection but I am just grappling with steering setup in my build now so...
...Am I right in thinking you are saying that both of the setups pictured above are wrong - and the column is better placed horizontally and not
angled down towards the floor of the car like the pic below?
