Footbrake back stop
I can't quite see a way to stop the footbrake pedal from flopping backwards and the rod coming out of the master cylinder. There is nothing on
the pedal arm below the pivot so I can't put an adjustable stop coming back from the bulkhead. There is a 6mm hole on the pedal arm just above
the one I used for the brake master actuating clevis.
Would it be ok to put a bolt through a rod end and pedal arm and link it to a rod going through a clearance hole in the bulkhead, with nuts/washers
the other side of the bulkhead ?. Pedal freeplay would be adjusted by moving the nuts on the engine side of the bulkhead.

The push rod should be secured in the master cylinder but it wouldn't be a bad idea to fit a stop . Can you bolt a stop to the floor?

Fit a weak spring to the pedal to hold it back.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Whats wrong with bolting a stop to the floor behind the pedal ? (the opposite side to the push rod)

wouldn't that get in the way of the foot action ?

Not at all , could be made adjustable if needed and would not interfere with the pedal which could happen with your design.

I could do a sketch but my mechanical skills are far better than my P.C. skills . If you look at your original sketch you need to put an
"L" shaped bracket to the left of the pedal pivot point (behind, looking in the direction the car would travel)

Thanks Rusty.
Job done
I put a right-angle bracket on the pedal arm and fitted 8mm screwed rod such that the end bears against the floor and can be adjusted by 2 nuts (
shiny new ones )
Oh, and my original design as per drawing wouldn't have worked as the rod would have fouled the brake fluid reservoir.
