Toyo 888's How long do yours last?
Im looking at getting new tyres and wanted to know how many miles you get out of your set and are they worth it?
I would be getting them in 17" dia and work out about £450-£500 all in which is a fair chunk of money

I put about 3000 - 5000 (not accurate, cos I didn't have a speedo since SVA) and one track/race day (mostly in the rain though) and there was
still heaps of tread left!
Not many of my miles were done softly either... 
ETA: mine were medium compound...

This is obviously road mileage and not trackday mileage. If you're concerned about how many miles they'll do, maybe you're better
off going for a harder wearing/longer lasting tyre.
Or get some smaller wheels and the tyres will cost less.

I've just changed mine, at just shy of 6,000 miles in 3 1/2 years.
I've done several trackdays and lots of hard road miles.

Just hit the wear bars, so have relegated them to track use only.

Almost fitted these to my Viento but decided that as most of the time I use it on the road and often in the wet to go for Toyo proxy tr1
The r888 are much better in the dry but not sure about standing water,

They're actually not too bad in standing water. Here's some footage of a few R888 shod Indys on a very wet trackday at Elvington a few
years ago.

I've done 2000 miles on my set and they're only 1/3rd worn. That includes 3 track days but some of that was in the wet. So I voted
5000+.

3-4K miles for me typically but I do have a fair a mount of power going through them so I tend to swap em around to even out the wear.
This year I've fitted the R888s to a second set of alloys just for trackdays and maybe a run or two to the drag strip.

I use these on my toyota MR2 (turbo). They Lasted me 4 track days (all in the dry) and less than 1000 miles. The rears were worn to almost slick,
fronts still had thread left.

Pah, thats nothing. The cheapest quote i had for the 16" tyres i used to have on the tintop were £200 each!!! And they were s**t

This comes down to the weight of the car again, a heavier car will wear them more quickly than a kit car.
so you can look at it by how many miles you do in a year as to how long they last... remeber tyres usually have a life of 6 years, then they can
start to crack on the walls if there sat on the ground all the time.
