Another brake line question

My car failed SVA because there was a slight twist in the brake line just before the MC. I didn't fit these lines in the car.

So I've had to unscrew it to take it off, and there is no 'slipping' section, ie, to take it off I've had to twist the line back in the other direction. Seems completely stupid to me as in doing so the last 4 inches are now screwed up beyond use.

So, can I cut off this section and get a fitting to attach on to it, as these seems crimped on. Then I need to extend it down and presumably fit a bango type fitting (as on the other MC in the photo) so I don't have to twist it all up again.

So, what fitting do I need, or do I have to fit a complete new length? Rescued attachment ABCD0003.JPG

Could you not have unbolted the resevoir from the bulkhead then turn that rather than the pipe?

edited for correctness.

Jasper,

You know what you need to do really.
Run a new line with either a swivel swivel or banjo at the end. Swivel is better, although not always easy to connect to the master cylinder.

You don't want an extra join in the hose. This is a common problem with using flexible hose for "rigid" sections, as the non swivelling connectors are cheaper, and then when you come to nip them up (when there is a leak) you are buggered as you twist the hose.

Bitter experience.
