removing seriously rusty hub oil seals

anyone got any tips or suggestions for removing some "proper" rusty and stuck oil seals from a sierra hub.

knock the bearing race out from the other side. i'd be very surprised if it doesn't come with it.

if you just want the grease seal out, try a pair of mole grips on the lip and try collapse it in. you could try the same thing with a screwdriver but watch the bore.

As above oil seals are just "tin plate" they can be split with a chisel (or screwdriver) and just hooked out.

The thing is I reckon they've been in since new (83!!) and they are now literally at one with the hub. I've given the race bearing a real good go and it aint playing, one side came out no worries but this one is well stuck. Perhaps I'll just buy some of those ally hubs instead

AND..... the other hub which is now on the car (ish) won't slide all the way onto the drive shaft. GRRRR!!!!
