As above really, i've been trying to fit, what i think are cortina hubs to my mnr front uprights, but the bearings seem to be about 10mm out ie
with the bearings on the mnr stub axel are 1cm closer together, than when in the hubs.
so have i got escort hubs instead?
my head is hurting from trying to work it out
cheers

Standard Escort hubs are different (smaller) to RS/Twink/Cortina ones if that helps.
what i need to know is whether the distance between the bearings is futher apart on the escort to the cortina? about 1cm
cheers
john
edited to say, the hubs have a code on them 71 BB1106-AC

Compare it with this PDF, the dimensions of the Cortina upright.

Yes, the Escort and Cortina hubs differ in the bearing spacing.
The Escort GpA hubs do have the outer bearing spaced out further.
I've had to alter my drawings for a customer job because of this very difference!
Cheers,
Syd.
Ok guys had a measure, against that pdf.

You might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick these are adjustable taper roller bearings.
The outer bearing inner race must be free to slide on the stub axle or it can be adjusted.
Can you screw the castelated nut on with its washer enough to get a split pin in ?
Cortina MK3-5 stub axles only take Cortina hubs
Escort one won't fit
RS Escort used Ford Corsair V4/Cortina MK2 1600E/Lotus Cortina struts and hubs.
