Hi,
I have just had to put a UJ in my steering column to overcome a clearence problem caused by the robin hood manifold the proble i now have is the
column now needs supporting otherwise it falls into either the chassie or engine
i have a chassie rail running next to the column so was thinking of putting it through a rose joint which would be attached to the chassie. is this
ok or does anyone have an easier suggestion?
Cheers
Paul
that is the method I am using, the only trouble I'm finding is getting a rosejoint with a 15mm bore as the metric ones go from 14mm - 16mm!
that is how I have done it but using sperical bearing here's a photo

That looks like what im trying to achive. couple of questions:
1. How have you fixed it to the chassie?
2. where do you get the bearings from?
cheers

I had the same problem and made my own split bearings as I had to pick up on sections of the shaft with either a joint or splines on.
