managed to finish making the crush tubes and fitted the wishbones, albeit using a rubber mallet as they wouldn't fit.
at first, they seem to move ok along their axis, but if you see the pics, i just can't help thinking this isn't a good result.
the wishbones dont need to much travel do they? right now, they seem to move ok, but as you can see, they are disaligned with respect to the
brackets.
should i bother to try to hammer the brackets into place or is it ok like this?
my first thought is premature polybush failure... but i see it really hard to improve the situation
Thoughts please...
cheers

It certainly won't help the life of the polybushes. It is fixable though, if you file out one of the holes to remove the static stress on the polybush, you can then weld a thick washer over the hole to correctly locate the bolt.
They dont look far out at all. Can you not just manipulate the 'U' brackets with a number 2 persuasion tool??? One side out and the other side in a touch?
I'd get a washer in all of those between the polybush and inside faces of the brackets.
Pat...
Is the problem that your brackets are on the wonk, or the bush tubes on the wishbones aren't coaxial?
If the wishbone brackets aren't in line then that's not good*.
* how not good depends how out of line they are.
P.S. They still look better and the bones fit better than nearly all of mine did on my Avon.
