Has anyone used standard production car flexi's on their 7 build?

Im using Sierra callipers front and rear.

just wondering if there are any standard off the shelf parts that have the same thread and will be long enough.

Cheers

I had considered doing that but got braded instead, worth the extra and it holds its shape better.

just looking at them their 18 1/2 inches long (end to end) with male fitting on both ends, Goodridge TYPE1 FMVSS-106 as supplied my MK all four are identical

oh god can't remember and just got kicked out of the web when I tried to look. I'm sure its in here http://www.mksportscars.co.uk/downloads.htm the PDF crashed my computer.

they do quite a lot of bits and have always been a very helpful bunch

Buy them from rally design, they will make crimped goodridge hoses to any length you like, or you can just buy the screw together euroquip stuff and make your flexis for about £15

there are issues with the screw together type and the SVA

flak monkey - 25/2/07 at 09:06 PM

Only if they arent of the correct type.

The manual specifically says that you can use screw togther types, as long as the fitting have an inner support tube and are designed for the application, which the euroquip stuff is!

I have some spare ends to take to the sva with me, incase there are any queries.

hmm but I think you have to be able to prove that the hose is supported on the inside where its going into the fitting

I used the Rally Design screw together hoses and they passed SVA no problem.

Edited to say: I took a photo of the fittings for proof, but wasn't asked for any evidence.

cool I just didn't want to try it as I'd probably make a balls of it and the hoses would pop out

I am shortly hoping to take delivery of a swaging machine to manufacture braided hoses. Should be able to do a set of 4 for around £40 + p&p. U2U if it's of interest.
