Have seen someone on here with about four or five joints in the column who isn't having any problems. Can't help with supplier though.

Put a joint in the middle that clears the alternator and support it against a chassis member.

For the Phoenix, I am using a MK1 Sierra column which has a splined type uj. I purchased the extension rod which is splined at both ends from Dax (DJ Sportscars)http://www.daxcars.co.uk/start.htm
The spline fits the Sierra uj and at the other end i fitted a second uj bought from Rally Design, http://www.raldes.co.uk/. I cut the splined rod in the middle, shortened to suit and welded a sleeve over the joint. I put in a couple of rollpins for good measure.

I hope I have attached a picture and that this is of help to you.

blimey..... Weld+spline+roll pins.. thats not going anywhere

how much was the rod if you don't mind me asking. Don't Dax get funny about parts if you don't have a DAX car... i remember someone saying...
