Well pleased with my pedals
Ivan - 13/2/07 at 10:09 AM

Finally finished the pedals. Well pleased with them - had them waterjet cut from Aluminium - interestingly enough it was cheaper than cutting from steel.

It looks like I'll have room for a footrest as well

Now to make the fitting brackets for them

nice, but isn;lt here one missing?

what alloy are they made from? you TIG them yourself?

you can have a go at the DIY anodising to make them even more flashy

Yup- I looked into DIY anodising a while back. Pretty simple really. Helps to get the dyes hot, you need to have a pot big enough to hold the workpiece without it touching the sides. Of course I wanted to anodise the parts black which is one of the hardest colours to pull off (you tend to get a grey colour unless you use horendously expensive (but strong) dyes)....
I went and bought all the bits then never did it....

Yep - still have to decide on Accelerator design - need 45mm pull on cable - will look for suitable in scrapyard then modify to suit.

Have never heard of DIY Anodising - will do search for info and maybe try it - thanks for the idea.

The Al is 5083 - a mate tigged it for me as I don't have tig.

Am also busy making Al seats - will post pic when finished.

Lastly - thanks for the positive feedback
