Dear All,
I need some advice for my front suspension.
I now that this question is asked before, but I never saw a clear anwser ( ore I just don't understand it).
I want to use the sierra upright, because I have them, and cortinas/taunus are hard to find in Belgium.
1/ with balljoint will fit the lower end of the sierra upright ??
2/ If I use an adapter at the top, what is the angle that the transit balljoint shut be?? 7° ??
3/If I make the lower wishbone 37.78 mm longer because the upper balljoint center point is 37.78 mm offset to the inside, will I have the correct
alligments ??
ore as the cortina upright also an offset between the top and bottom balljoint center point??
4/ concerning caster, the sierra as standard an built in negative caster, how can I compensate this ??moving the center from the lower wishbone
forward , because i like to keep the design from the upper wishbone intact.
5/ has somebody used a transit balljoint at the bottom ?? see pictures
THANKS FOR A REPLAY

Its very common on Westfields to use the transit ball joint on the bottom w/bone.
Kind regards,
Darren
Darren,
I tought that Westfields used the sierra balljoint presed in to the lower wishbone.
Do you have a picture ??
The QSJ602S balljoint is this a fit for the Sierra upright lower end ??
And has the Transit balljoint the same cone ??
Thanks
Gunther
Westfields use either Cortina ball joints (early cars) or Maxi ball joints (later cars) on the bottom wishbones. They use the Transit ball joint on the upper wishbone.
