Can't help myself here sorry, Great feet!!!!!!!
I did same as Mark but I shortened the cable and put the bar on the axle to the other side as it was close to the panhard rod.
yours, Pete

The Capris cable would be ideal but I don't have enough room behind the axle due to a large fuel tank and mounting it in any other place than
original would prevent it working correctly.
The Fiesta one sounds as though it may do Rob. How was it for length and what type of brake plate connections has the cortina axle used?
Nick
I know it sounds like an original idea, but what about an allergro, as per the book. available from halfords £6 per side.

I was going to ask about the hand brake cable then came across this thread after doing a search.
Does this capri item connect to the sierra hand brake lever OK?
I modified the handbrake by welding a piece of bar to it and drilling a hole for the cable in that. I shortened the cable with a "U"
clamp.
yours, Pete.
I left my handbrake level unmodified, I just need to make steel 'bullet' with crossdrilled threaded holes to crimp the cable.
Just looked at my Capri Live axle and I cannot see how I can use the Capri cable. RU1 and RU2 are in the way.
Can't see how I've got my ride height that high that it is no good.
I've built a book chassis as per Martin Keenan's instructions and made it an inch taller. Thinking about it logically, I should have more
clearence at this point than less.
Do the back plates on the axle come off? Are the bolts even if they do? If so I could move the backplates round a quarter of a turn to make the
cable fit.
Vince, have you got a picture?, I cannot see how RU's can be anywhere near the handbrake cable, my cable runs along the centreline of the axle,
the backplate has a nylon lined guide for the rod to slide through.
I am going to raise the chassis end of my panhard rod to give it a bit more clearance though.
I'll take pictures and post them in the moring.
You can see from the picture that the lever goes in a downward movement.
I have decided to order the book Alegro ones and will move the backplates through 90 degrees so that the levers come out just above and to the left of
the push rod connecting bracket.
