I've fitted one of these breathers from Think:
Now my tank is full of water, it's drips slowly out of the breather when the tank is upside down.
Also when the tank is pumped with air, I get a fine mist of water spraying out of the breather.
It has a plastic ball in it and a metal ball, the plastic ball is supposed to float in the liquid to shut the valve.
Will it behave properly with petrol and is it only "leaking" because water has more viscosity?

I some how doubt it, petrol is far more "searching" than water in finding places to leak through, much lower surface tension.
Sounds like a duff valve to me
Or maybe it needs the length of rubber tube on it to work properly?
